Janice Rosario is a NYC-based contemporary dance choreographer and improvisational dance instructor. A native of Upper Manhattan, Janice studied on scholarship at Ballet Hispánico, Ballet Academy East, Boston Ballet, and The Alvin Ailey School. She is a graduate of F.H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts and Hunter College.
Janice has been commissioned by numerous prestigious institutions throughout the United States including: The Alvin Ailey/Fordham University BFA Program, the Professional Division at The Alvin Ailey School, The Martha Graham School, Columbia University, Hunter College, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, the Dance Institute of Washington, the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, Irvine Valley College, Passaic County Technical Institute, The Thacher School, the Joy of Motion Dance Center, the New Jersey High School Dance Festival, Frank Sinatra High School for the Performing Arts, the Joffrey Dance Academy at Fort Hamilton High School, Norte Maar's Counterpointe Series and Periapsis Music and Dance.
In the coming months, Janice will be creating new works for The Alvin Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, Grand Canyon University, Sacred Heart University, W. P. Davidson High School in Mobile, Alabama, Drexel University, Bucknell University, Passaic County Technical Institute and Verbs Ballet. In August 2019, she will present work at the Battery Dance Festival.
In addition to her choreographic endeavors, Janice has taught at The Alvin Ailey School, Ballet Hispanico, F.H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, New York Dance Project, Frank Sinatra High School for the Performing Arts, Fort Hamilton High School's Joffrey Dance Academy, Sacred Heart University, Hunter College, Harvard University, High Tech High School, the American Youth Dance Theater, Irvine Valley College, at the Contemporary Dance Festival in Tobago, and the Joy of Motion Dance Center.
